Beware of the phone scam to steal your identity by impersonating an IRS agent!

Per the IRS website phone scams are on the rise; however, there are a few easy ways to spot a phone scam. The first being that the IRS will not call to require sudden payment, you should have at the very least received a bill from the IRS. They also will never require that you pay your tax bill without the option to appeal. The IRS will not ask for any credit or debit card numbers over the phone or ask you to use a specific method to pay. They most certainly will not threaten you in any way shape or form with any law enforcement groups. Keep these things in mind and you should be safe!  Here is a great article on this subject:
