Tacoma Minimum Employment Standards

Beginning February 1st, two important changes become effective for employers that operate businesses in the city of Tacoma, or are outside the city limits but have employees that work within the city of Tacoma.  The first is a minimum wage increase to $10.35.  The second is the Paid Leave Ordinance which requires employers to provide up to 24 hours of paid leave annually to employees working within the geographic boundaries of Tacoma for 80 hours or more in a calendar year.
