There are now less than three weeks left until the individual and C corporation tax filing deadline. This year, thanks to Emancipation Day in Washington DC, Tax Day falls on April 18. Even if you’ve already filed your return or know you will file an extension, you may still need to make a payment by that date. In addition to filing a tax return, April 18 is also the deadline for the following:
- Making a 2016 contribution to your IRA
- Making a 2016 contribution to your HSA
- Making an extension payment on your 2016 tax return
- Making a first quarter 2016 estimated tax payment
- Filing a report of foreign bank accounts if you have a financial account in a foreign country with a value of over $10,000
